In order to help us help you plan a great vacation, you need to answer a few questions. It is best that you consult with your entire group when answering these questions.
Where do you want to go?
Although Florida, the Bahamas and the Caribbean are similar in many ways, there are key differences that may contribute to the kind of vacation you want.
- For convenience, familiarity, and an active shore scene, Florida is an excellent choice.
- A little farther away, but still convenient, the Bahamas offers a laid back, uncrowded experience with wonderfully friendly people.
- The Caribbean, especially The Virgin Islands, is the most active chartering area in the world offering protected waters, beautiful anchorages and tropical ambience .
When do you want to go?
Some locations are very seasonal and choosing one of these will dictate the best time of year to go. In addition, crewed yachts often charter in different locations depending on season, Winter in the Caribbean and Summer in New England for example. It’s our job to know where the boats are located when you want to go.
How many people are in your party?
If you are interested in a bareboat vacation, your primary concern may be the number of cabins. On a crewed yacht charter, the number of people in your party affects the crew’s ability to give individual attention to each guest.
How much do you want to spend?
Yacht charters can be a surprisingly affordable vacation. Crewed yachts can cost as little as $1900.00 per person per week, or you can spend a small fortune for a week on a mega yacht. Also, keep in mind that tipping is customary on a crewed yacht and equals 10 to 15 percent of the total cost of the charter.
What activities are you interested in?
Seeing historical sites, hiking, scuba diving, fishing, shopping, night life and many other activities will determine not only your charter location but also the boat that will best suit your needs.
